This got me thinking about why I love the look of aged and worn items and the word "nostalgia" presented itself to me.
(click to enlarge)The official definition of the word nostalgia seems to have a negative connotation to it by referring to it as “a bittersweet longing of the past” or “homesickness”.
I have sweetened the definition to suit my own taste with my newest design.
As we age (yes, it is inevitable) it seems to me the memories we have of our precious moments from the past become sweeter with each passing year.
Simple glimpses of our past intertwined with the essence of “now” defines who we are.
This petal from Heaven that softly lands on you today is to let you know your nostalgia is as sweet as "Tupelo Honey" and gets sweeter every day single day.
We must cherish it.

I love the look of old, tarnished, and chippy items. They surround me with the comfort of home. Your pictures are beautiful. Clare
Lovely post Mo. I needed a few quiet moments to just be nostalgic - which is always sweet for me. Hugs, Sandi
OMG! I can`t believe you love Tupelo Honey - I was just talking about it last night to my brother-in-law and listened to it again on the way home in my car! You`re an Angel of the third degree!Great Minds, Mo!x
Dearest Mo,
From Debbie I arrived at your 'Heaven'... and decided I will stay! So I'm your newest follower and put you on my sidebar as well.

Hi: As you can see from my blog, I love your blog. Praying that God blesses you more than you can think or ask for this coming year! Hugs, Martha
You KNOW that I am VERY NOSTALGIC!! I loved this particular post!!
There's a lot to be said about the old days. I'll take nostalgia over technology any day. Lovely post.
I just love what you've done with your already gorgeous photos. I never gave much thought to where the word "nostalgia" originated. It makes sense, doesn't it? I hope you continue to transform some of your pictures for us. Thank you Mo.
I like your definition much better, and how right you are when you say as we age we long for the sweet things of the past.
I love the painting of Mary you have on the blog. I like painting with those colors lately~
cheery, soft, bright colors. That's the side of me that is expressing herself lately.
Have a glorious day,
Marianne
