A Thread of Delight

Recently, I found myself playing with Photoshop.

            (click pictures to enlarge)

Experimenting with the different mediums available.

I came across this one,

Which delighted me because . . .

I never had the patience to finish something so beautiful with needle and thread.

(This is why I love technology!)

Candy Cane Christmas Eve

Here are a few snapshots of our Christmas Eve table.

This year I accented the table with peppermint candy,

candlelight,

and candy canes.

In each napkin I snuck a candy cane into the napkin ring.

So simple.

I think these classic Hammond natural mint pillow candies are adorable.

I do wish you a wonderful Christmas Eve.

Twelve Days of Christmas

When my husband and I began dating, almost 30 years ago. . . (*wow*)

I remember my first Christmas with him.

He gave me a gift earlier than I have ever gotten a Christmas gift before.

I look puzzled and asked him why he was giving me my Christmas present so early.

He then explained to me that this was our " Twelve days of Christmas " and each day he would present me with a gift.

And he did.

I have been spending every Christmas with him ever since.

Christmas Surprises

This year is the first year I have ever had a white christmas tree.

After I strung the lights,

I came across these ornaments I had purchased last year.

Which I had totally forgot about.

What a pleasent surprise they were!

And we all know, Christmas surprises are the best kind.

Free Animated Santa Blog Graphic!

I found this vintage postcard of Saint Nicholas and fell in love with the way it represented Santa Claus.

Since he had a corncob pipe, smoke was a must in this design!

The lipstick for writing " Merry Christmas " gave it the whimsy I was looking for.

Enjoy!

Dear Santa - Gift Tags!

Over the weekend I created these Christmas tags from a photo I took last year around this same time.

Here is a smaller size if you would like to print and use.

I also created one in pure pink.

Here is the original photo I used that was my inspiration for this little project.

Petals of love to you.

          Sweet Days

" There was Everton taffy around Christmas time,

          With its delicate essence of nutmeggy rime;

And sourballs and doughnuts and huge candy toys

For that life of the child that was buileded of joys!

Ah, dear little shop on the green little street,

I want to go back to those days that were sweet. "
