Garden Rose Petals

Rose petals will always have a place in my home.

They seem to add a touch of heaven,

elegance, and romance to anything they touch.

They only last for a short time.

But the time is so sweet.

To me they are like snowflakes,

No two are just alike and they are special little works of art created by heaven above.

Happy Place - Freebie Blog Graphic!

This new graphic was inspired by a phrase I came across a couple of days ago that simply said, " My happy place.".

When I read it, I thought of my blog and how it has become a collection of all of my favorite things.

My blog has also taught me more about who I am and about what I enjoy most about life.

It is " my happy place " and I am glad I get to share it with you.

*hugs*

    Pink, Silver, and Chocolate!

I knew right away when I walked into The Royal Hawaiian gift shop I would be enchanted with a treasure trove of eye candy.

The colors of pink and silver,

    and of course chocolates!

Their beautifully thought out displays were meant to blog about,

And I am so happy to have a chance to share my memories with you.

Before I go off to work this morning,

Let my mind again wonder through the irrisistible treasures found on Waikiki Beach at " The Pink Palace of the Pacific ".

    Abhasa Spa in Wiakiki

While we were walking the grounds of The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki,  we came across this beautiful pink and white awning.

Written on this candy striped awning was one of my favorite words. . .

    " S . . . P . . . A "

Before wandering inside, I had to take a picture of the pink hibiscus welcoming us to this enchanting place.

As we wandered inside, I was curious . . .

What the word  " Abhasa " meant.

Abhasa, which means " Illusion " in Sanskrit,

is noted for being the only spa on Oahu,

    that offers luxurious spa treatments

in a serene tropical garden setting,

    A Return from Paradise

We had a wonderful trip to Oahu.

Above is a glimpse of Waikiki Beach.

I finally got to visit the Royal Hawaiian Hotel also known as the " Pink Palace ".

Most of my pictures were taken there.

The beauty, history, and location make it one of the best hotels I have ever been to.

Above is a view of Diamond Head from the Royal Hawaiian.

    Seashells - Free Blog Graphic!

As we prepare for our summer holiday on the islands of Hawaii, I am inspired by the ocean and the treasures found on the shore.

I love the color combinations in this graphic and how the inside of this abalone shell looks much like a wave in the ocean.

    Enjoy!

      Vintage Jar of Satin

This is a jar from my cranberry glass collection.

My cranberry glass collection has various patterns,

textures, and shapes with one thing in common,

the rich and lucious color of the depth of pink that to me

is the reason why I began collecting the glass in the first place.

Since this piece is not marked in any way,

I can only guess it was manufactured somewhere around 1880 to the turn of the century.

It has a satin finish and a ribbed pattern.

Because of the pontil mark in the above photograph, I can say it was made by hand.

This type of glass is also known as overlay.  I know this because the inside of the jar is white.

I am facinated by the perfect pattern resulting from someones glassforming skills and how they used layers of glass to achieve the various colors and patterns of each piece.
