Kiss from Heaven

I try to never take things for granted,  I mean the subtle things each day that could easily be overlooked.

The morning my father went into the hospital for surgery, before I even knew he would be rushed to the hospital, I had looked out my white french door to see a beautiful fuchsia rose.

Normally this would not be out of the ordinary however, where it was growing was ever so strange.

It was growing right in the middle of my wild rose bush, it could not be missed.

When looking at this picture, I could not help to see heart shaped petals.

Normally, the wild rose bush would produce only these small red roses from year to year.

But this morning, it provided a " kiss from Heaven ".

Little did I know, as the day progressed I would need this reassurance from above.

My father is doing miraculously well.

Thank you for all of your well wishes.

I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Petals of love to you all,

In the Living Years

Life has been a roller coaster since Saturday evening.  My Father had surgery last night and it went beautifully.

The surgery was to clean out his left carotid artery from 90% blockage after he had a stroke on the left side of his brain.

We saw him last night and he was doing better than well.

I thank God, the angels, and Our Lady for guiding us through this trying time.

I must say a special thank you to St. Therese, Dad's patron Saint.

I know she sprinkled her rose petals over my Father during this difficult time.

As this morning I wake up thankful, this song has come to my mind. . .

(I awoke Saturday morning to a miracle in my rose garden, that is the day Dad went into the hospital.  I will post this miracle to you on my next post.)

Choose beauty and wonder

We do not, to be sure, make our choice whether we shall be literalist or dreamer;

. . . enthusiast, or keyed in a lower pitch of the marvelous scale of human temperament.

But were that election within our power, who would choose to things quite as they are, or as they are currently said to be?

Who would not invite the good genius that could relieve us from the ennui of commonplace and every-day by touching these with such enchantment that we should seem to ourselves " surrounded by beauty and wonder " ?

Is it of more service to see dust-motes in a sunbeam as dust-motes merely,

or to see in those shifting atoms what the youthful poet in the lecture-room beheld -- ambassadors to spirit his fancy away to Onberon and fairyland?

Sunday Mornings

This morning there is a chill in the air here in the desert.

We have a cold front going through our state.

So early this morning,

I wrapped myself up in my hand crocheted afghan

Sat on our back porch;

And enjoyed the brisk cool air as I sipped my Wolfgang Puck Hawaiian Hazelnut Aloha Noisette Coffee.

And realized one of my favorite things to do is sit outside, early Sunday morning while listening to all the chatter and chirping of the birds, and bathe in the cool crisp air and remember to count my blessings.

Capture the Moment

As I looked out my white french door,

The pink blooms caught my eye.

I thought to myself,

Do not hesitate . . .

Capture the moment;

And I did.

" No Ka Oi "

The places in Hawaii that I usually take for granted are now perfect for blogging about.

These photos were taken on my latest holiday while walking through the Royal Haqwaiian Center.

The Honolulu Cookie Company is a familiar site that I would usually just take for granted.

But after looking at all of the wonderful colors and displays, it caught my eye as perfect for a post.

As you wonder about Hawaii, a familiar phrase is repeated over and over.

"No Ka Oi", meaning, "the very best".

And I think the Dark Chocolate Coconut Honolulu cookie is, "No Ka Oi"!

Patience & Passion ~ Oh, the things you can do!

Recently, I came across these amazing one of a kind treasures handmade by Franc Grom.

He is a 70-year old Slovenian craftsman and has drilled holes in Easter eggshells for the last 19 years to make ornaments on them.

He drills an approximate number of 2500 to 3500 holes to make a single special Easter eggshell for which he spends usually one week.

Grom is the only artist making craftworks on eggshells by drilling this number of holes.

I suppose no one else has the patience, passion, or tender touch.

This is a reminder to me that we all have a gift, a special gift that is ours to give to the world.  We just need to locate it within ourselves.

    Wow.  Just Wow.

    I am inspired.
