Rose-Jar

Sweet St. Nick

A gentle man with a generous heart,



Always thinking of others right from the start.




Not wanting others to know his plan,

Cranberry and Ice

When I first began collecting cranberry glass, I never imagined how easy it would be to build a lifetime of memories off of one color.

The deep cranberry compliments almost every color in the rainbow.
  

 
But with metallics, the cranberry glass shines.

Perhaps because it is made with actual gold.

The gold is what makes the color of the glass so rich and pink.
   

During the holidays, it blends right in with the sparkle.
   

I love the way the color looks with the softness of a rose petal.
   

 

This little vintage bowl was collected along my travels through antique malls.

I hope you are enjoying the holiday season.

 

I always have to remind myself, it is not just about a day (Christmas) it is about the journey.

I had made the comment over at Terri’s that I had never even seen a two handled teacup.




And then I won it.




How cool is that?




As you can see I adore pink roses.




So it found a perfect home.

Chocolate Covered Rose Petal – FREE Blog Graphic

What is it about roses and chocolate together that makes it so lucious?  So decadent to the senses?

It is one of my favorite combinations. As you can tell by my newest design.

I wanted to use rose petals being covered in chocolate as the picture and after working on it awhile, I am happy with the result.  I hope you are too.

Rosebud Teacup

I am happy to be participating Martha’s and Terri’s “Tea Cup Tuesday” No. 36!

This is my vintage “Rosebud - Green” teacup produced in England between 1951 to 1952.

I know this exact time frame by looking at the mark on the bottom of the teacup.

.

The round back-stamp shows Royal Winton, Grimwades, Made in England and the letter “A”.

How the letter “A” is displayed is the clue letting me know when this teacup was produced in England.

In 1941 all potteries were required to be marked with the grade of it’s china. 
It is at that time Royal Winton began adding the letter “A” to it’s pottery.

Royal Winton did not include this letter “A” in it’s script back-stamp between 1941 to 1951.

In 1951 Royal Winton created their new script back-stamp which included the letter “A”.

This new back-stamp continued until 1952.   My teacup shows the letter “A” as part of the script back-stamp.



Sometime in 1952 the producers of pottery were no longer required to display the grade.
