Teacup & White Roses

It has been awhile since I have posted on my passion for tea.

This hand painted teacup set was collected years ago when I was going through my "white roses" phase.

Vintage hand painted items always interest me because they are like snowflakes, no two are alike.

And at one time someone took pride in sharing their talent through their artwork.

What caught my eye on this set was the beautiful scalloped gold trim and decorative handle.

This teacup set was made sometime before 1945 in Silesia.

Silesia is a region in central Europe that was formerly (prior to 1945) divided between Germany, Poland and Czechoslovakia.

This teacup is not only rich in allurement, it has an intriguing  past as well.

I am happy to be joining Cindy's,  " Show and Tell Friday " over at her beautiful blog " My Romantic Home " .

What a pretty teacup! I love browsing through charity and secondhand shops for old china. You can sometimes unearth some real treasures.

Have a fab weekend Mo.

I do not claim to know everything...., but I do hold a degree in geography...and I must admit that I never heard of Silesia. Off to read more about it....love the white roses and the cup and saucer with the interesting past!
