Sweet Childish Days - Freebie Blog Graphic!

Lately I have been daydreaming of my sweet childish summer days.  When I would wander about the yard in the hot summer sun and think of what I could do to take up all of the time in the day.

Often I was bored and as many children are and did not realize what a gift I had.  

These are the thoughts that inspired my newest design. 

If you look close in the image, you can barely see a clock I overlaid on the picture of the bike to give the subtle message of how precious our time is.

There is kind of a dreamy flavor to this design and exactly what I was looking for.

Time to get Nutty

Bring out the tiki lamps;

Let's escape this Monday and head back to the island of Maui.

Where my favorite summer drink waits to sip while staring at the island of Lanai.

Although this drink is officially called the " Nutty Hawaiian ". 

I simply call it,  " The Nutty Coconut ".

With the rim of the glass drenched in chocolate and covered with crushed macadamia nuts, I find it island therapy for the stressful soul.

A soul in search of an escape from this demanding world.

Even if it is for just these few short minutes on a Monday morning.

Once Upon a Time

I finally made the wand that I had sitting around for the longest time.

I started with just a paper mache wand like this one:

That I had purchased at a craft store many moons ago.

Covered the star with glue.

Then dipped the star in silver glass glitter.

Once it dried, I wrapped the wand with some beautiful silver ribbon.

I still envision adding more ribbons and decor at the base of the star.

But for now, it still made for a beautiful photo.

Moments of Beautiful - Freebie Blog Graphic!

Often, the right words to put into my design are the hardest part of the creative process.  This graphic was an example of that.

I first came up with the background. (easy!)

Then the perfume bottle.

Then I prayed for inspiration.  (As always) 

To me  one of the funnest parts of designing a graphic is choosing a font.

I love the result of this one.

Something Beautiful

There was a dad

I had started with the with the white scroll print and then placed the vintage lady in it and it grew from there.

This morning I prayed for the wisdom to put the right words on it.

As always, Heaven came through!

"Be the soul that sees the beauty." is original.   To be sure, I googled it. 

So it is a quote from Heaven given to me today.

And this is why:

Butterfly Trails

This group of soaps I collected are wrapped in a beautiful paper covered with butterflies.

And tied with a gorgeous organza ribbon.

It gives it such a romantic touch.

This would make a beautiful little decoration for a bathroom.

Just find some beautiful paper and wrap three soaps.

Pile them up and tie a ribbon.  Beautiful.

I found an Angel!

When I saw I had a new follower, I clicked on the avatar to see who it was.  I found an angel.  A real angel.

The kind you read about. 

It is a humbling experience to visit Dorothy over at her Blog, "Waggin' Tales Furry Trails" and read her post called " After the Tornado".

It brought tears to my eyes and made me realize the statement is true,

“Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have.”

                   Margaret Mead (1902-1978)
