Saturday night we had a dinner get together at my parent's house.
I am blessed to live so close to them.
Before we left, my mother gave me her vintage lead crystal rose bowl.
She had bought it back in Connecticut when I was a a toddler.
It catches the light in so many places.
Today I filled it with roses.
It lends itself to many wonderful uses.
The cover is spectacular.
I also baked some banana bread.
And my husband surprised me with a spa treatment for both of us to get a two hour massage this morning.
All and all I had a beautiful weekend.
Thank you Mom for the beautiful gift.
I will always cherish it.

Oh,Mo! How wonderful that your Mom gave that to you. She wanted you to have it while she was alive and able to see you enjoy it, don't you think? I have been giving my kids things, too, because I want them to enjoy them as I did at their age(s).
And you hubby is a keeper! A SPA treatment? You are a spoiled woman!;>)...and I am happy that you are! xo Diana
You are truly blessed!
The bowl is simply gorgeous! I like the detail on the "feet" of the bowl - the golden roses. The pink roses in the bowl give it a nice touch as well.
Your banana bread looks delicious too! I'm sure it tasted SO good! I hope you and your husband enjoyed your day at the spa. :)
Blessings!
Hi Mo! stopping by from Brighton Park. Love coming over here; such inspiration. I have a blog award for you. http://brightonparkblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/monday-goodness-blog-award.html love to you! katie
Time spent with family - a beautiful bowl from a loving Mother - it doesn't get much better than that! Reading about it was like a petal from Heaven for me :O) Thank you for sharing!
Hello there and wow, please save me a slice of that banana cake. I was thinking of you today whilst I wrote my blog and I would love for you to take a peek.
I photographed some of my Catholic figurines and statues as they are too lovely to keep to myself.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Come on over (and bring that cake!)
Speak soon

Oh, I LOVE banana bread! I have an easy recipe for it, too....Hmmm, maybe I'll whip some up this weekend! :)
The crystal rose bowl is beautiful and so unique. My mother-in-law gave me something of hers that looks similar to that. Isn't it nice when we are handed down treasures from loved ones? Your banana bread looks scrumptious, and is a favorite of mine.
