I have many fond childhood memories of Halloween.
Saying “Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww” when reaching into the pumpkin to clean it out.
Carving the pumpkin to perfection. (At least our version of perfection)
Separating the pumpkin seeds from the “yucky” stuff. (“Ewwwwww!”)
Roasting the seeds in the oven and then salting them. (Trying not to over cook them)
Deciding on what costume I wanted.
Getting all dressed up on Halloween night.
The chill in the air as we walked from door to door to each smiling neighbor with their generous treat.
Getting back home and dumping the candy into one huge pile and always anxious to see what we had received.
Traditions are carried on at our house. They are the glue holding all my precious memories together.
I was blessed with a Mother who believed each holiday was an opportunity to celebrate and she always made sure our family traditions were remembered so they could be carried on to her grandchildren. (And they have been)
Thank you Mom!

Happy Halloween! La
Thank you for sharing your wonderful childhood Halloween memories. I remember the "ewwww" factor. I still love roasting the pumpkin seeds and have burned a few batches too. I love those sugar coated pumpkin candles. Hugs!
I know - SO GLAD that we had a Mother that was "into" traditions! How nice is that? Great post!!
