One of my Christmas presents from my mother was " Prickly Pear Tea ".
The ' prickly pear ' is a cactus here in the desert that produces a fruit by the same name.
I remember long ago making prickly pear jelly with my brownie troop.
I was fascinated by the way the needles were separated from the fruit.
Although the prickly pear grows here, it is a delicacy with a wonderful sweet taste.
My mother said she purchased this tea at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
I have a few more pictures that I will show you in my next post so stay tuned.
I am linking up to Cindy's Show and Tell Friday:

Mo, I absolutely LOVE your new profile photo! Aren't you beautiful? And were you in Hawaii when that was taken?
Prickly pears grow here in Australia as well, although I have never tasted them. Too many prickles.
