Something Beautiful

There is something beautiful about berries.

These beaded berries looks as though they are made up of ruby or garnet drupelets.

These older earrings are made from clusters of pearls.

And little metal leaves.

While looking for my fall decorations, I came across these berries.

I love the way the drupelets capture the light.

Many of my favorite colors can be found on this vintage blackberry mug.

I believe it was made to be used for hot chocolate and probably once was part of a set.

Although it is autumn, to me berries are always in season.

Roses and Berries

Among my vintage treasures are lots of berries.

I especially love blackberries.

Or “dewberries” as we called them in Texas.

They lend themselves well surrounded by the roses in my house.

This rose is from my rose garden.  A miracle in itself since the high temperature these days is over 100 degrees F.

I really appreciate old hand painted plates and dishes.   I admire the thought and work someone has put into it.

This bone china jampot was made in England by Adderley and is trimmed in gold.  By looking at the mark on the bottom of the jampot, I know this piece was made prior to 1950.   Adderley's (floral) bone china is often decorated with delicate hand-made bone china flowers like the yellow ones here on the lid of this adorable jampot.
