More Treasures

Yesterday, I had a few minutes to wonder about the blogosphere and be inspired by all of you creative ladies out there.  Yes you!

With my roses blooming all at once, and the temperatures here rising, I knew I needed to make the most of a moment I had with them.

There are always so many options with roses.

Today I chose to use them with a treasure I collected during my "goofus glass" phase.  I do not know much about it's maker other than this beautiful milk glass decanter was hand painted and made around the turn of the century over 100 years ago.

This is a little souvenir shell trinket box I picked up at the Islands one summer.

It's iridescence is mesmerizing.

Inside this treasure box are some more of my vintage keepsakes.

There is this thing I have with rose petals.  (As you are well aware by now)

No picture that I take is quite complete with out them.

As is my life.

Fairy Tale of Spring

"  Spring, the sweet and winsome beauty,
She the coy, the wayward, playful,

Loving, tender-hearted maiden;
Charming as a dream of childhood,

With a smile upon her young face,
And a love-light in her blue eye,

And a grace in every movement,
Trips along o'er barren landscapes,

Singing sweetly, singing gayly:
"I am coming, I am coming,

Look up, Nature, oh, be joyful!
I will bring the sunshine to you,

I will bring you pleasant showers,
Balmy zephyrs, birds, and flowers.

Thus the gentle, winsome beauty,
She, the Queen of all the seasons,

Yearly comes to Earth, and scatters
Smiles and blessings all around her.  "

                      - R. I. McMechan (Poems and Songs, 1877)

Romantic Easter

This years Easter basket contains all of the essential ingredients:

(just click on pictures to enlarge them)

The softest lavender Easter chick ever,

Beautiful eggs decorated in vintage Easter pictures, ribbons, and beads.

A white lace handkerchief,

Velvet pansies,

And to top it all off, I added some of my favorite pieces of vintage rhinestone brooches.

It is Friday already and that means I am joining the "Show and Tell" party over at Cindy's blog, "My Romantic Home".

Easter Joy - Another Free Blog Graphic!

One thing great about blogging is we get to decide how our "blog world" should look.

( We actually have control of something *wink*

   . . . something fun! )

And we can change it on a whim. ( . . . or not )

Today, I made something new and "pink".  Something Easterly.

It is so simple to use, just follow the directions at the bottom of this post.

Enjoy!

    Our Journey

    Blogging brings out our passion.

Our passion for the things we love.

Sometimes, it brings out passions we didn't even know existed within us.

    It helps define us.

    To polish us.

It is a storybook of our lives.

Our inner child us allowed to speak.

It is laughter on a heavy day.

And fragrance for a heavy soul.

We learn more and more about ourselves with each post.

And we are able to share this journey with those we love.
