Apothecary Jar with Roses

For Cindy's "Show and Tell Friday" and Liz's "Fresh Cut Friday",  I have picked some of the best roses from my garden just for you.

And have placed them into one of my apothecary jars.

This jar is a reproduction of a vintage pharmacy jar.

It was manufactured by Ely Lilly in 1988.

I fell in love withe the blue and white color combination,

As well as the angel painted on it.

The letters " U:CAELFUL:FO "

I have found to translate from Latin to, " strong blue ointment ".

This ointment was used in England as early as the 17th century.

The ointment contained Mercury so eventually it was replaced with safer medicines such as antibiotics.

Find Yourself

I always love posting beautiful pictures with words that move my soul. 

Here are some photos I took yesterday with some wonderful words written by the German author Cornelia Funke, from her book " Inkspell ".

Allure of Angels

My guardian angel is letting me know it is time for some "angel wisdom" today . . .

According to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux (b.1090),  we each have three duties we must carry out for our guardian angel.

The first one is respect;

The second is gratitude,

And the third one is confidence.

St. Bernard wrote, " We owe our good angel respect, because of his presence;

Gratitude, because of the services he renders us;

and confidence, because of his most reliable and effectual protection. "

Elegant Scrapbooking

Eventually, I would like to create another wedding album for myself.

And turn it into hardcover book.

I have created the perfect photo template I will use.

It is one of an elegant scrapbook.

Here is a sample of the template with pictures of some of my favorite things.

I am always fascinated by the light and how it makes the cranberry glass "come alive" with color.
