One of our favorite things to do while in Hawaii,
Is to visit the honu , or sea turtles while they bask in the sun.
Of course we mustn't disturb these treasured creatures.
And we hope they do not mind us here staring at them
Every time we are lucky enough to see the honu, I am fascinated all over again by their magnificent size and am thankful the species is protected and safe from harm.

" As with nervous fingers she carefully drew from a great white envelope the most beautiful cupid ever seen -- he of the angel wings.
A dainty perfumed lace surrounded a picture of two lovely doves,
bearing between them a heart of gold' on a bed of crimson roses,
whose delicate petals fell on their pathway.
Inscribed on the golden heart, in letters of heavenly blue, were the words:
Would you know who sent this valentine to thee? I will tell you truly, if you'll call on me."
- from the " Ladies Home Journal " , 1889
Happy Valentine's Day to you ❤

Recently, I was thinking back to the time,
When in elementary school, we all would create our own Valentine folders;
Decorating them with hearts and our name and then hanging them on the back of our chairs.
I am not sure which part I enjoyed more,
handing the valentines out, or receiving them.
This little paper cone I made a while back and today I fill it with Valentine cookies.
I am linking up with Cindy's Show and Tell Friday:

" My Valentine is old and worn,
It's freshness lost, it's fragrance shorn;
But still it holds some little part
Of the warm love within my heart.
What matters if it's perfumed dress
Has lost it's pristine daintiness ;
The words, though old, are ever new
That bear the message, " I love you. "
- T. J. White ( Captive Memories ", 1897 )
